Dal Palazzo del Cinema del Lido, Valeria Golino ringrazia con la lingua dei segni mentre sul palco le viene consegnata la prestigiosa Coppa Volpi per la sua interpretazione nel film “Per amor vostro”di Giuseppe Gaudino, una delle sorprese del cinema italiano alla 72° Mostra del Cinema di Venezia. Nel film, che la vede protagonista, la Golino interpreta il ruolo di Anna, una donna di Napoli cresciuta in un istituto religioso e oggi madre di tre figli, di cui uno con disabilità uditiva, avuti da un uomo inesistente e che scoprirà poi dedito all’usura.
Un film anomalo nel panorama del nostro cinema, realizzato con un budget irrisorio (700.000 euro) messo insieme da ben otto produttori - tra i quali Riccardo Scamarcio, compagno di vita dell’attrice - e girato in meno di due mesi tra non poche difficoltà. Il cinema del regista napoletano Giuseppe Gaudino è da sempre attento alle storie di disagio sociale e di emarginazione.
Il suo lungometraggio d’esordio, “Giro di lune tra terra e mare” (1997) era stato presentato proprio a Venezia (dove aveva ricevuto il Premio Pasinetti assegnato dal Sindacato Nazionale dei Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani) e raccontava con uno stile originale le vicende di una famiglia di Pozzuoli destinata ad una progressiva disgregazione da terremoti naturali (il fenomeno del bradisismo che colpisce la zona in cui vivono), dal degrado sociale dei nuovi quartieri popolari in cui sono costretti a vivere e dalle vicende umane dei protagonisti.
Nei diciotto anni che intercorrono tra i suoi due lungometraggi, Gaudino ha lavorato a numerosi documentari, spesso in sodalizio artistico con la regista Isabella Sandri: tra questi "La casa dei limoni", che raccontava la storia di una bambina palestinese nei campi di Sabra e Shatila e "Per questo stretti a morire", dedicato alla figura dell'esploratore-fotografo Alberto Maria De Agostini, che documentò con il suo viaggio in Patagonia agli inizi del '900 la scomparsa degli ultimi indios.

At the 72nd Venice International Film Festival, Valeria Golino espresse thanks by sign language when she received the prestigious Coppa Volpi for Best Actress for her performance in the film PER AMOR VOSTRO by Giuseppe Gaudino (Italy).
In the film, the protagonist Valeria Golino plays the role of Anna, a woman from Naples, who grew up in a religious institute, now mother of three children, one with hearing disabilities, the children of a man never present, whom she discovered was dedicated to usury. It’s a strange film in the panorama of Italian cinema, made with a paltry budget (700,000 Euros) put together by eight producers - such as Riccardo Scamarcio, life partner of the actress - and shot in less than two months between many difficulties. Director Giuseppe Gaudino is always attentive to the stories of hardship and social marginalization. His first feature film, "Giro di lune tra terra e mare " (1997) was presented in Venice (where he received the Pasinetti Award assigned by the National Union of Italian Film Journalists) and told with an original style. It recounts the history of a family from Pozzuoli doomed to a gradual disintegration from natural earthquakes (the bradyseism hitting the area where they live), from the social decay of new neighborhoods in which they are forced to live and the human stories of the protagonists.
In the eighteen years between his two feature films, Gaudino worked on numerous documentaries, often in artistic partnership with director Isabella Sandri, including "La casa dei limoni”, which told the story of a little girl in the Palestinian camps of Sabra and Shatila and "Per questo stretti a morire", dedicated to the explorer-photographer Alberto Maria De Agostini, who documented during his trip to Patagonia at the beginning of '900 the disappearance of the last Indios.
